Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor: it blocks the conversion of testosterone into estrogen. In men on testosterone replacement therapy, some testosterone converts to estradiol, and in some patients that conversion produces higher-than-usual estrogen levels, causing fluid retention, mood changes, or breast tissue tenderness. Anastrozole may help bring estrogen back into a balanced range. It is prepared by a state-licensed compounding pharmacy on your clinician's prescription.

What it can help with

  • Estrogen management — may help lower elevated estradiol in men on TRT
  • Support with TRT side effects — may reduce fluid retention, mood changes, or breast tenderness linked to high estrogen
  • Hormone balance during TRT — used when labs show elevated estradiol

What to expect

Anastrozole acts quickly; estradiol levels usually fall within a few days. Your clinician will use follow-up labs to adjust the dose, since the goal is to bring estradiol into a healthy range, not to eliminate it — estrogen serves important functions in men's health. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.

How it works

How to take it: A small oral tablet, typically two or three times a week at low doses for TRT support, on the schedule your clinician sets. It is generally prescribed as part of a testosterone plan, with recent estradiol and testosterone labs.

How to start: Place your order, complete a brief online medical intake, and upload your recent lab work. A licensed clinician reviews your labs and history to determine whether the treatment is appropriate for you. A short telehealth appointment is required (at no additional cost) before a prescription is issued. If approved, your treatment is prepared by a state-licensed pharmacy and shipped discreetly to your door.

After your first delivery, a new supply arrives automatically every 4 weeks — no reordering needed. You can delay a shipment or cancel anytime from your account.

Your dose: Personalized by your clinician and adjusted over time based on how your body responds to treatment and how your health needs change.

Important to know

  • Anastrozole is prescribed off-label for hormone management in men on TRT. The FDA-approved version (Arimidex) is for breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
  • It is compounded by a state-licensed pharmacy at the specific low dose your clinician prescribes.
  • It is generally prescribed alongside testosterone therapy, not on its own. Aggressive estrogen suppression can cause joint pain, low libido, mood changes, and bone loss.
  • Not everyone is a candidate. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.
