What does a GLP-1 program cost?

En español: ¿Cuánto cuesta un programa con GLP-1? Precios reales 2026.

It is the first question almost nobody asks out loud, and the honest answer is: it depends on three things. The molecule, the form you take it in, and whether the price includes a physician or not.

Start with the last one, because it is the part most often hidden.

What you are actually paying for

There are places where you pay for the medication alone. Nobody reviews your history, nobody adjusts the dose, nobody answers when something feels off in week three. It is cheaper because it is less.

In a supervised program the price covers evaluation by a licensed physician, preparation at a licensed pharmacy, shipping, follow-up and dose adjustments. The molecule is the easy part. What costs money is someone being accountable for your case.

Why tirzepatide costs more

Semaglutide acts on one receptor: GLP-1. Tirzepatide acts on two: GIP and GLP-1. These are different mechanisms, not an "upgraded" version of each other, and which one suits your case is decided by the physician reviewing your history — not by price, and not by what you saw on TikTok.

Sublingual or injection

The sublingual dissolves under your tongue, daily, in microdoses. No needles. It is the most accessible entry point and for many people it is where starting makes sense.

The injection is weekly and reaches a full therapeutic dose. It asks more of you and costs more.

Neither is "the good one." They are two paths, and the right one depends on your clinical picture and on how realistic a daily routine is for you versus a weekly one.

How it works, step by step

In some states a brief telehealth appointment may be required before a prescription is issued, at no additional cost.

What is NOT included

About the lowest price

If you find the same medication for considerably less, it is worth asking what was removed to reach that number. It is almost always the physician, the follow-up, or the pharmacy license. Sometimes all three.

We do not say this to defend a price. We say it because the part that gets cut to make it cheaper is exactly the part that protects you.
